At every stage of your career at McDonald’s, there are learning and training programs that help you set your growth from being a crew to an executive. These include Crew Development Program, Restaurant Management and Mid-Management learning and development program.
Crew Development Program
From day one of your work at McDonald’s, you will learn skills that will help you deliver McDonald's promise to the customers. In this program, our crew learns skills and knowledge on hospitality, safety and security, teamwork as well as cleanliness and sanitation. At each stage of your growth as a crew, you learn about procedures to the assignment or a station independently. Your growth in this phase is defined by the speed you learn and apply the learning attained.
Restaurant Management program
Having learnt the basics of day-to-day operations of a restaurant in the Crew Development Program, the talented employees are imparted class room as well as real life training to prepare them for a bigger role in the restaurant,
which will eventually lead to a restaurant manager position.
The four components of the program are:
- Shift Management - This teaches the basic knowledge and skills to run a restaurant shift. This includes basic shift management and advanced shift management courses.
- System Management - This includes role-playing, discussions and interactive exercises in and out of the restaurant setting.
- Restaurant and Business Leadership Practices – these simulate the complexities of a real restaurant environment and reinforce the concept of decision making; building a high-performing team; and help in developing the business plans that meet the goals
Mid-Management program Your learning and development does not stop as you grow across the organizational hierarchy.
These courses are designed for Operations Consultants and department heads, which have been trained to not only effectively operate a business at regional level, but also to help others manage great restaurants.Department heads also go through extensive learning and training that helps in developing strategies and skills for leading and coaching people, to further improve organizational performance.
